Dancer, teacher, and choreographer of ballroom dances, Marilia has forró as her main dance. Now she celebrates 10 years of forró and during these years of study, she has developed an irreverent and charming way of dancing and teaching forró. She has won the Campeonato Brasileiro de Forró, as well as awards in many national and international festivals, has travelled to several countries around the world to teach forró, has been in several TV shows and dance congresses all over Brazil. Her latest conquer was the best teacher of Forró of Brazil in 2015 and 2016 (by Baila Mundo). Her research in Brazilian folk dances and ballroom dance has led her to develop a multicultural forró without prejudice. In her opinion, forró is one of the dances that most allows expressing the individuality and creativity of each and every one, as well as the movement, essence and charm of women, which is why she invests in the development of followers’ skills. Now she is living in Lyon and is helping to develop the city’s forró scene with the association “Forró em Lyon” as a teacher, partner, and member.
